The fucked up thing about that is, in this country, people have no idea how hard it is to actually make major league baseball. A kid I played with in Joliet, who honestly was the best baseball player I ever played with whose dad was the same way. Pushing the kid terribly hard because he had a "shot" at the majors, but got injured, and wanted to live vicariously through his son.

There are SO many players, and minor league players, no matter the level make absolute SHIT.

This is the kid I played with, he basically ruined his life by going for the dream way too long.

The poor motherfucker wallowed in the minors until he finally realized at 30, his best years were behind him (probably because his stupid ass dad kept pushing him). His one stint in triple A he only put up a .177 batting avg. He has been playing well in the unaffiliated independent leagues, but I imagine, that is just full of talent that wasnt good enough for the majors like him.

and for anyone that doesnt know here is a pay scale for the minors:

Level 1st Year 2nd Year 3rd Year Rookie $1150 $1200 $1250 Short Season A $1150 $1200 $1250 Low A $1300 $1350 $1400 High A $1500 $1550 $1600 Double A $1700 $1800 $1900 Triple A $2150 $2400 $2700

I got out of college making more than veteran triple A players, alot more actually because im just counting take home pay for myself. This shit gets taxed for them.

Is that per week?

Don't get me wrong, my kids had some excellent coaches, but a few of the coaches were only there to make sure their own kid got special treatment.
