If the Aceplayer stream is good, that is the best way to go. If not, some of the HD streams are really good. Figure out which ones don't lag for you, and always use those.

Ive tried to use these before and the quality is never as good as cable/dtv or Sunday Ticket streaming. Maybe if you watch on a small screen?

Have to DVR the majority of the games. Usually watch them in the evening after being a productive, kick ass Dad all day long. So, DirectTV gets me.

I pay for game pass, and live stream for free for live games. The reason for the game pass is because I don't always watch live but also because the wife and I are fans of different teams so if the games are at the same time we just pick the more important game and stream that one and watch the other one later.

Also I've heard of this option but haven't explored it. If you have a friend in Chicago you can put a sling box at their house and log in remotely to watch the games. Probably easier to do the local TV thing through a VPN though.

I dunno, Ace streams seem to be pretty high quality. If you can find them, though.

Sports bar or streaming seem to be your best bets. I remember when I was down in Lafayette, all they played were the Colts and Redskins. Usually had to go to B-dubs to catch the Bears.

Yes to the sling box. My dad has one and my uncle logs in to watch the Cubs games, as well as boxing, from Lafayette.

Interesting. I already have YoutubeTV and a VPN that has a Chicago hop. Do i also need to change my zip code in the YTTV app or will just firing up the VPN be enough?

I also recently canceled DTV after many years. I was planning on doing the euro game pass over VPN but this sounds more free.

Which VPN do you use, and does it work with a smart tv or do you need to use Chromecast?

That's because they can actually afford a monthly payment without having to look for something free or cheap.

It's boomers fault that prices are so high, because they accepted it instead of fighting back. THere is no reason cable and sat. should be this expensive, It's being smart not an affordability thing. I can afford full blown cable and NFL ticket, but why waste my money when there are alternatives with the same quality but cheaper.

There really were no alternatives to cable and satellite not too long ago. I don't think the boomer should take the fall for that....there are plenty of other things they should answer for but cable and sat prices aren't really it.

Unfortunately I tried the VPN / YouTube TV setup today and even with a “dedicated Chicago streaming IP” from Torguard it’s not an workable process to get Chicago local channels working.

Guess I’m doing VPN and UK game pass again.
