It was the salad days of the 90s. When you could get $50 an hour to do Powerpoint.

That's not always true. There are plenty of corporations that have very strict rules on practices and customer engagement. More so than most small companies

Which they then don't follow.

I was, lol. I was wearing a suit for some reason (coming or going from a different job interview). but you know, I did think about taking their offer at the time. but I was getting paid $50 an hour to do Powerpoint.

A cheap rental car company in Florida once tried to keep my deposit and I didn't get it back until I disputed the charge through my credit card company. Then they were like "we took care of you what's the big deal?".

I love the tips, but honestly never had a single problem renting cars. I've rented from the dirt cheapest "mom and pop" place to Enterprise luxury cars and have never had any of this stuff pulled on me. Not that I have rented a lot of cars (maybe 15 or so) but they always mark previous damage, go over the car with me on return, and never try to stick me with extras like gas or insurance. I even initial the places when I waive it.

Same here. The only time I have to rent a car is when I have to take mine in for repairs. Most of the time I rent from Enterprise and never have a problem.

One time I rented from Hertz simply because the repair shop had a deal with them and the rental car was right there. The car had an I-pass in it but they charge a service charge to use it on top of the toll charges. So I made sure to use my own I-pass. Of course they tried to charge me for using it once but the toll was charged after I had already turned the car back in. I had my credit card company dispute it and it got taken off.
