Castro and Rizzo are signed to team friendly deals. They arent going anywhere. I told people this before. Castro and Rizzo are just proven it now.

Rizzo no. Castro depends on Baez and Alcantara.

Right now no. Baez is putting up Olt like numbers in Iowa. No that is not good.

If he heats up with the weather and Alcantara puts up his reg production I could see it. Trade him for 2 arms.

To be honest here him hitting #4 just makes me think that he is a place holder for Baez and there is a reason why they have not moved Baez off of SS yet.

With his D and Castro at SS you would think that they would have moved him over already.

Same with Bryant at 3B.

You don't see either of them moving off position.

You don't typically move a dude off a position unless you absolutely have to. Baez is the inferior defender to Castro right now, but that's still a playable SS especially given the offense.

There's a chance Castro gets moved but it's not because of Baez or Alcantara IMO.

@CarrieMuskat: #Cubs lineup tonight: Bonifacio CF, Valbuena 3B, Riz 1B, Castro SS, Schierholtz RF, Kalish LF, Baker C, Barney 2B, Hammel P

So much for Lake getting to play everyday.. Kalish in for him
This is ridiculous

I hate seeing different guys in the lineup every damn day.

When you have young guys you want to evaluate, play them regularly.

We will never know what Lake can do. He will play too sporadically to have a chance to develop. I have my doubts about him, so this isn't making excuses. I am frustrated that we have a guy with great speed and good power and we won't find out his ceiling.

I like how Castro and Rizzo are playing. Anyone think they'd be hitting this well playing three days a week?

Would Kalish be in the majors if it wasn't for Theo/Jed?

Hammel was hit extremely hard that inning. Lucky we didnt give up any runs. Nate with the great play and throw. Carpenter was stupid for that play. 0 outs and you do that? That isnt Cardinals baseball

Great piece of hitting right there by Rizzo, quick wrists battling off a nice pitch by Lynn for the single.

2-0. Hammel has been smoked for 2 innings and the Cubs have a horrible lineup tonight with Barney and Baker in the lineup.

Hammel has some really nice stuff. Both these runs have came off solid pitches. Hope the bottom half can come in and make some noise during our half of the inning.
