If Boozer continues to be awful on awful to go with his zero ability on defense, yes. Taj could very well soon be getting the majority of the PF minutes and Boozer will be a very expensive bench player.
Luckily we have a coach who would have the balls to do that if it came down to it.
Yet, I think Boozer was just surprised with the way the Pacers were playing him. I don't expect him to keep having terrible games, especially with the way Rose played in the last game. He should see a lot of open looks and seams to basket in the next game.
Thats the thing though, Boozer has been blowing open looks since his return from the ankle sprain. You can see he doesnt have any lift right now. He was a 20-10 guy before he got hurt again so im not completely doubting that he cant get back to that but the buckets he's missing is kind of scary. Spending a bit too much time focusing on the contact hes getting and not enough on finishing a play.
the lows for him far outweighs the highs.
In 1 post season game? Get real. We have not seen the best of Boozer. I've watched a ton of Jazz games every season. I've watched this guy play his whole career. I wanted him back in the 2002 draft but Krause made the brilliant choice to take Roger Mason Jr. Boozer's highs far outweigh his lows. People on this board make it out like the guy is completely useless out there. Just having Boozer on the floor makes offense easier for Rose, if you can't see that then you've got your eyes closed.
He averaged nearly 18-10 this year, my bad, he was 2pts shy of 20. People need to stop acting like he is an overpaid scrub. This was 1 game in which he was in foul trouble the majority of the time & which the ENTIRE TEAM PLAYED LIKE CRAP FOR 45 MINS!
Edit: Minus D-Rose, of course
As has been said before...Boozer on the bench almost makes more sense than him as a starter...if he wouldn't piss and moan about it...He and Noah don't have games that compliment each other...so why not utilize both of them to their fullest abilities?

Yes in one post-season game(and the weeks prior to the post-season), i am real, are you? You wanted to put him on a pedestal because of the first 7 minutes of the game or whenever he was playing well. Like i said 4QTRs, the lows outweighed the highs and its not even close.
Good for you watching him throughout his career, so have I and ive never seen him play as bas as he had since his return from the sprained ankle. Like i said when he starts putting up multiple 20-10 games for us in the playoffs, then we can applaud him for keeping his mouth shut on the bench.
Yeah he gets the double teams down low that Taj doesnt but what good is it if he cant convert his shots? What good is he turning the ball over? What good is he when he cant play defense and hes borderline useless on offense? Ive seen Taj set the tone early in games, he may not be the scoring machine that Boozer is capable of being but hes more capable of being effective offensively than Boozer is defensively.
I dont mind so much that he sucks defensively but when you dont put in an effort is when i really question your desire to win. Theres only so much screaming can do.
Boozer is obviously hurt and hes better than this but dont act like hes the 20-10 machine hes shown in the past because as of this moment, he isnt and thats all that matters. Not the past, not earlier this season, right now with him and Noah on the court. His hands are sloppy and hes not effective on either ends of the court. I dont want a guy who gets double teamed, i want a guy who makes a play when he gets double teamed. 15 million is what hes getting paid this year. Overpaid? yes. Scrub? no.
Not trying to get in a debate with you but mentioning his 1st QTR performance and him keeping his mouth shut on the bench is just dumb. He shouldnt be talking at all because hes not performing. Now go give me his stat line against a couple scrub teams in meaningless games to justify his case.
"We watched tape," Boozer said. "Any time you get in foul trouble, it changes how you play a little bit. It changed me too."
Seven of Hansbrough's nine third-quarter points came with Boozer on the bench. The pesky Pacer hit two fourth-quarter jumpers and stole the ball from Boozer for a dunk and three-point play.
"Carlos didn't guard him the entire game," Thibodeau said. "So our team didn't do a good job. You have to look at how he got those points. Was it the result of breakdowns? I would say it's a compilation of things. We have to do a much better job on him."
"We can help him out getting him the ball in spots where he's more comfortable," Korver said, "not just jump shots but pick-and-roll and that one-dribble bounce pass getting him in the middle of the lane doing this thing. He's a real emotional guy. Getting him going early can help him out."
YeahI gave you examples of the weeks prior where his scoring wasn't the best but his assists & rebounds were up. No he didn't get 20-10 the last month, I even friggin' said that! Boozer is a better player than Taj. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. You are not putting a player of his talent on the bench, period.
Yeah thanks for the few game examples os his assists and rebounds. Once again i'll tell you that all i care about is his play as of late because the past is the past. Hes not playing good now, now matters, thats it! You didnt say he got 20-10 but you said name me a player besides Duncan who gets 20-10 and sits the last two minutes on the bench and doesnt *****. I simply said that Boozer isnt averaging that so that point is irrelevant.
I'll admit he's struggling, which I have many times on here, & I'm frustrated by it too. But the simple fact remains that Boozer spaces the floor better for Rose, which in turn makes Rose's offense much easier. How do people not see this? Scoring or not, him being on the floor makes it easier for Rose. I see it and i get it but everything he's been doing offensively for this team is simply given back on the other end of the floor. Rose has no problem driving the lane at the end of games when Taj is in. It doesnt matter whos out there, Rose will ball.
Where was all this hate when Boozer was beasting a few months ago? Everyone was sucking his jock. He's struggled to score lately, which is not even entirely his fault. The team is not actively trying to re-post him. Hell even Thibs has said so!
Why would anyone hate when hes playing well? When Rose has bad games he gets bashed here. Everyone gets bashed when they dont play well(at least by me). Boozer just happens to play bad consistently as of late. And after Thibs said they havent gotten hiim involved enough, they tried to get him involved more. That went well for maybe 1 or two games(against soft interior defenses). Even if hes not getting the ball in the post enough, whats his excuse for fumbling the ball away when he does? Whats his excuse for missing point blank dunks and layups? Whats his excuse for the constant turnovers?
Overpaid? See Joe Johnson. Boozer came off a career year and got paid. And considering some of the other huge contracts this off-season, I'd say we actually got him at a discount. How many people said the same thing about Deng a few years back? It was probably the majority of everyone here. Is Deng overpaid now? Believe me, I'm frustrated with Boozer's play just like everyone else, but I'm not going to sit here & give up on the guy cuz he's struggled putting the ball in the hoop while not playing at 100%.
Oh Dear Lord, i hate when people play this card. The whole our guy isnt overpaid when you look at (inset another teams player here). The Hawks had to overpay for Joe Johnson and its just that simple, they had to. They were on the verge of losing their all-star SG to another team and they would have been irrelevant again and in the lotto. They had the money and they had to do it because Joe would be in a Bulls uni. Sometimes you need to overpay to keep your team alive. I agree we did get Boozer at a good discount, he probably could have gotten more elsewhere. But the guy misses like a month or so because of a stupid broken hand freak accident at home(allegedly) and now hes simply not playing good. If he was playing good, then i would say hes worth the money. But when you give zero effort on D and youre really struggling offensively. Deng was overpaid for what hes given us. His play this season doesnt change that. But this year hes earned his money because hes been great defensively, better offensively(not as much as everyone claims but better) and the key thing for Deng, he played in every game this season. I havent given up on Boozer but im quickly leaning towards it because of his lack of defensive effort. Put a hand up, step toward the guy your defending when hes been draining shots. Its that simple. Stop being an apologist for him, theres no excuse for his laziness
And for the love of God, would people stop it with this "If Boozer didn't ***** about being on the bench he wouldn't be starting" bullshit. There is ZERO evidence of that & in fact there's more evidence to the contrary. He's stated on several occasions, "I don't care about what stats I'm putting up as long as I'm helping the team win". Yea he bitches & moans like a regular Amare. GTFOH I have no clue what youre getting at, i never said such a thing. Where did i say that hes starting because he would ***** if he wasnt? I said he has no room to ***** because hes not performing
