I don't have anything against the guy, and I'm not saying he won't develop into a fine player, I am simply saying that I hate seeing, hearing, or experiencing any kind of halfassing and that's what this article tells me he's been doing.

When you're paid nearly a million bucks a year to win, and your game has holes, you don't sit on your ass playing golf all summer. It's a shitty attitude and I wouldn't tolerate it from my employees, kids, or myself.

If you're Brooks Robinson and you have 16 Gold Gloves you can one hand ground balls and miss the occasional practice, but if you're a dude who hasn't proven himself, I don't care what "time of the year it is", there is no summer vacation and you bust your ass to be a champion...

Derosabomb, so he's really busting his ass but he's hiding it because he doesn't want the American public or his team's fans knowing on which part of his game he's working? Or did my sarcasm detector fail horribly?

If my friend I haven't seen in a while is asking me about a specific topic and says "what's going on with your home health company these days" I may not call my accountant and ask him what the 2011 Q3 revenue projections look like compared to Q3 2010, but I will at least say "we opened a new office and I hired a new regional sales rep."

I don't say "I've been playing a lot of golf and I'm going to get back to working just before Q4 fires up."

Well he wasn't "ready to play" at the end of last season so I don't see how a summer of playing golf is going to turn him into a 20 goal scorer. That's all I'm saying. I'm not a scratch golfer, but I'd like to be, so I go practice my putting and getting up and down from the sand 4 or 5 times a week. All that and I'm not even getting paid a million bucks.

Let's put it like this: Who's better, Stalberg or Kane? Who do you think worked on their game more this summer?

We have a winner...

lol you should've taken toews as your guy not kane. but yeah no doubt. im just a huge stalberg homer. hes gotten shit from almost everyone on this board since we got him last year for basically being what everyone though he would be, its just Special person. people on this board expect a point a game out of everyone on the team even fucking the goalie. its points points points on this board. nothing else matters.

I honestly think Stalberg is a good deal at 875, and he has shown some speed and if he learns to handle the puck a little better can be a huge asset. What I'd like to do is see how he does this year and maybe extend him if he gets a little scoring punch or learns to do the little things like scrum for the puck or poke check in a key situation, etc. He's still young and by no means have I given up on him. I just wanna see a little somethin somethin... Either way, if he gets it going next year we're stealing him at 875 for a few years.

I'm glad the Hawks got him cheap. He's a good player, but I do NOT want to see him on the top line ever again. That was horrendous. He made Toews and Kane WORSE. I'm not sure where he fits in with this team though. If top line is Brunette-19-88. Second is 28-10-81. Third is 29-36-67. Fourth line possibilities are Kruger, Stalberg, Carcillo, and I'm forgetting a few people. He could get some chances at 4th line.

He has some size, he can hit when he wants to, and he's blazing fast as long as he's skating in a straight line. There is some place for him, we just need to see what that is, but you're right, it isn't with Kane and Toews...

wow way to add to the conversation.

this is why no one wants you around joecawks. stfu or start backing yourself up. start with what the hawks could have done to save cap space last season we've all been waiting for your genius ideas there.

Dero, stop lowballing the board :grrr: -- it is a goal a game, minimum (not even aggregate... in other ords even if someone managed to score 82 goals -it wouldn't count for anything -unless that guy had an 82 game goal scoring streak.

:obama:

As a matter of disclosure, I don't care about utility infielders batting stas in baseball either... I guess that I'm just not that into the team -and have a cursory interest in it all...

Just out of curiousity- if some of you guys want to play Stalberg on the 4th line- who exactly would you be playing? The Smurfs, or something?

A basic FYI- 4th lines are not for scoring ... unless of course it is my NHL 07 game-- where all my lines score -it roxxorz.

:p
