I heard that the other day on the news. That would be a devastating blow to the Peoria area.

Rocky appears to like him.

By the looks of the last governor election it appears everyone in Chicago loves Quinn.

Wisconsin also screwed itself by cutting corporate taxes. That is the real reason they are in a budget crisis. They will have less money for infrastructure improvements and basic services so no corporations will go there. I have a bad feeling Catepillar will be heading to Mexico.

Totally disagree.

Wisconsin is picking up a lot of business that are moving or considering moving there because of the Illinois issue.

To prove my point, I just had a conference call with a client of mine that is moving in the next two weeks to Beloit, Wi.

Said company had $13 million in revenue last year.

This is a short term gain trust me. I've taken enough public administration classes to have this drilled into me. They will get a temporary boost in business but then they will have a huge budget short fall in a year and will have to make drastic cuts the people won't support. I could be wrong but I doubt it. The same thing happened to Illinois that is why they had to raise taxes this time.

The last state around us that I would consider doing the wrong things for business, budgets and taxes is Wisconsin.

As much as the media tries to derail Wisconsin about their politics at least they have the balls to make the tough decisions and stick with it. Illinois has not, can not and will not follow their lead. We continue to piss away money on our budgets and all the while increase both corporate and personal income taxes. Our state IS the definition of insanity.

Thanks to many years of Democrat tax hikes.

So for the people that voted for Quinn, how's that working out for you?

Edit: Quinn needs to study up on the Laffer curve

It was from Fox News so it must be bullshit...

I have many classes in the college of business here at ISU that were completely funded by Caterpillar. I assuming this has no affect on these classes as they've all been paid for. But still, I'm pretty sure many people depend on Cat for jobs in the Bloomington-Normal area.

I think pretty much most of us would. I had a hard time not saying **** OFF when I walked by him the other night.

Then again I don't live in Cook County, which single handedly voted him into office.

You obviously didn't watch that video I posted about how this exact type of reform has completely fucked Milwaukee. Now he's taking it to the State Level. WOO HOO WIsconsin for electing a bozo on the same level as IL.

Glad we aren't alone.

It would surprise me if Wisconsin is where they ended up. The money savings would just not be enough to move an operation like that.

Chris it's one thing for a smaller size company to up root to another location but we are talking about a LARGE business. Financially there would not be enough savings for a move to Wisonsin or Indiana.

13 mil in Revenue and or Profits is peanuts. We are talking 100's of Millions. That's where the money is. I suppose if you lost enough small businesses then it might be felt, but unless the LARGE corporations, the CDW's, Motorolas, Catipillars, do it, it won't effect them much.

They could move to a State like Nevada or Montana and make a HUGE dent, compared to a small financial change which would take YEARS to overcome the moving expenses.

From the Fox Business story that I referenced.

Think what the personal taxes as well as corporate taxes would be on one million jobs.......... the number would be staggering.

And this is just Cat. Imagine if Boeing, Deere, United, etc. started coming out and saying the same thing.

There was a recession in the early 90 and 91, I could see them taking the job stats from before that one started cause thats how they report news, with a huge fucking spin.

Ok, and as a Country how many have we lost?

That wasn't my point. Your last sentence says it all. And again they won't be going to Wisconsin. They will be leaving to Mexico.

It's not a State Problem Chris, it's a United States Problem. Especially on the level you just stated.

I would say most states minus a very FEW have lost 100 of thousands of Jobs.

And IL is a typical Property Tax State, where as Wisconsin is the opposite. Again as mentioned it's going to hurt them and is hurting them just as much. So much he's vowed to lower the tax.
