Why not? Sign JJ and Boozer to 4 year deals and the rebuild in 4 years when Boozer, JJ and Deng expire. In the meanwhile, you have a top 3 team in the east. I think Rose, JJ, Deng, Boozer and Noah are better than Amare/Wade or just Bron in cleavland and about the same level as Orlando. You'd have three allstars and two very good role players.

I disagree with Mark about Deng. I think Deng would be a bad option off the bench. I would go so far as to believe that if he came off the bench, he will demand to be traded. That may sound funny but I think that is what will happen...

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
If people complained about Hinrich being paid 9.5 million to come off the bench, what will they say about Deng's 11 or so million coming off the bench?

Assume the following:

a. Heat resign Wade and add Amare.

b. Lebron resigns with the Cavs.

c. Bosh signs with the Knicks.

d. Bulls sign Joe Johnson.

How would you rank these teams?

Depends, where do Lee and Boozer go? If we get one of them to go with JJ, I think we're right up there with the Cavs and Heat.

well we would be a slightly better team for a while. once in the playoffs JJ would start to suck. We might have to move deng over the pf position, and play johnson at sf, cause he cant gaurd a 2 for the life of him.

Ray Allen had a worse reputation defensively then you give Johnson, which makes him seem poruous (you are wrong, and sound really dumb saying this crap continuously...), but Thibodueu turned him into a decent defender. Johnson is younger, bigger and more athletic. I think JJ will be fine defensively.

Was Tommy T or Garnett more responsible for making Ray Allen a decent defender? We all know you think Gordon sucks, but he somehow managed to score 42 on Ray Allen + Tommy T - Garnett. I think we're giving a little too much credit to the coaches. The major difference between Allen's defense in Seattle and his defense in Boston is Kevin Garnett backing him up in Boston. Good interior defense is what matters most.

I don't believe I said St. Ben of UConn sucks, I believe you and others on here act as if he is World B. Free reincarnated. In other words, I think you all overrate him quite a bit...

I don't think Noah's interior defense kept the starting Bulls backcourt from struggling at times defensively. I would consider Johnson a better defender than either Gordon or Rose. Noah had a terrific defensive series against Boston but Allen destroyed Gordon in Game 6 and Rose could do nothing with Rondo.

The next year the Bulls state a renewed interest in defense, despite Noah and Thomas' dominant perfomrances in the second have of the previous season...go figure...

You couldn't be more wrong here. You really need to go and watch that Boston series again, which I have recently. Noah, and especially Thomas, had a terrible time with Perkins and Big Baby. The main reason we lost game 2 was because Boston killed us on the boards. This happened throughout every game in that series. Miller led the Bulls in +- in that series, and that was because his presence somewhat negated Boston's bulk.

Tyrus Thomas was never a dominant defender. He's a great shot blocker. He was one of the worst fundamental defensive players I've ever seen. He still hasn't learned to box out.

If the Bulls got JJ and Boozer or Lee and the rest of that came true, the Bulls will be playing Olrando in the East Finals and it will be on Rose if they win it all. They could also add someone like Allen or Redick and probably even another good solid bench player. That would be a great solid team: Rose, JJ, Deng, Boozer, Noah- Allen/Redick/Korver, Gibson, James Johns., solid player.

That team would be better than Cleveland with Lebron? Clearly JJ is miles better than Hinrich, but is that delta enough to push us past Cleveland? It would be much closer, but even if you add Boozer/Lee, I'd still give a slight edge to Cleveland because of Lebron. They pretty much kicked our ass in the first round.

Fred, I am fairly sure it would have been a lot different if we had a fully healthy deng and added two allstars.

well for one thing, if we had some talent on this roster on the offensive, it wouldn't be rose v the world. Does anyone remember noah being our second option on offense?

I don't think it was Noah and Thomas' fault that the MVP of that series was Rajan Rondo.

That's the thing...you can't count on a fully healthy Deng.

I don't disgree but I think it would have been a very close series even if we just added JJ and Boozer. The cavs aren't unbeatable.
