High character guy, but hopefully this shuts the door on the Rob Ryan nonsense. At least the LBs Monachino coached in the NFL are still in the league, and not working in ESPN studios or coaching the Titans.

In his last two seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, Monachino helped develop linebacker C.J. Mosley into one of the most productive young players at the position. In 2014, Mosley became the first rookie in Ravens history to be named to the Pro Bowl as his 129 tackles ranked eighth in the NFL and first among rookies. Monachino also coached Pro Bowler Elvis Dumervil to a franchise-record 17.0 sacks in 2014 as he and Suggs (12.0) combined for the most sacks of any duo in the NFL (29.0) that season.

Nothing to do with what I said, but kind of an interesting comment. He was going to be a P5 DC in college...is NFL LB coach really that much of a step up, either in status or salary? Just asking. I'm guessing Brent Venables will be making more money than Ted Monachino in 2019, by a significant margin.

Salary probably is higher with the Bears, a little anyway.
If you want to coach in the NFL or be an NFL DC, college is not really the spot for that.
