I did. Because some douche bag was bitching so I said **** it and dropped my team.
First off, I cannot post as my old ID of #19 so I had to create a new profile.
Here's a recap as to what happened.
#1 Uman (Steve) was the commissioner and made 4 trades in 1 week. Even though the settings of the league say that trades have an approve/veto process, Steve used his league commissioner powers to approve the trades bypassing this process. Steve said he did this so that the players would be available the next day (not a good excuse) and he had always done this. As I look back over the history of this league on the ESPN site, the only trades that have a Trade Upheld (LM) for League Manager next to them are the trades that Steve made this past week. The trades in April and early May do not have this icon.
#2 Two of the trades Steve made resulted in him acquiring Robert Cano, Joey Votto, Matt Holliday, and Evan Longoria for a group of average players and several that were in-season pickups who weren't even drafted. Yes, he did trade Kinsler but was replacing him with Cano. Keep in mind, I was not accusing Steve of anything but the level of talent he was acquiring for what he was giving up was eye-opening. I've only vetoed a couple trades in all the time I have played fantasy sports and I hadn't even gotten to the point of critically analyzing the trades. Couple the amount of talent he was receiving with the fact that two of these trades were with owners at the bottom of the standings and one who has clearly abandoned the league and it began to look even more questionable. From a distance, it looked as if Steve fleeced a couple owners who don't care about the league of their best players and fast-tracked the trades before they could be analyzed. After looking at these trades my thought was “Why did the commissioner approve his own trades without them going through the process?”
#3 I posted a question about this on the ESPN message board. Steve sent me an email. My post on the message board was removed. The only one that has power to do that is the league commissioner (Steve). Steve said that the site had been acting up. None of the other 3 ESPN leagues I am in have had any problems with disappearing threads. To be blunt, I think Steve is lying.
#4 While questioning Steve about this on Saturday on this site's chat, he threw a tantrum and dropped all his players. I never accused Steve of anything rather I was asking him about approving the trades and my disappearing message post.
#5 I sent Fisch an email recommending that he freeze all the players from Steve. Since he said he wasn't going to do this I put in claims for the players since I didn’t know what other owners were going to do. I hadn't read this thread since I don't come to this site anymore.
So there is a recap of what happened.
And to Steve who is saying that I am a douchebag who was bitching, all I can say is "grow up!" Don't act like such a little *****. I've never seen an owner dump his team before. What you did as commissioner is highly questionable and all I did was ask some questions without jumping to conclusions. It’s obvious you were in over your head as commissioner. And don't tell me this is a free league and just for fun. Most of us are trying to win.
And to Fisch- go ahead and find a replacement owner for me since I have no interest in staying in this league. It shouldn’t be too hard since I have the best record in the league.
