I don't think that is very likely below 8,000 feet elevation and treeline.
A rain cloud is full of ice and shit anyway, and snow/rain is often determined by the air temperature below.
Now...if it snows a couple inches what does it do to the ionization? Are you going to see air to ground strikes to snow? I'm sure there is an electrical reason we haven't really heard of that and it doesn't seem right. I'm sure the internet knows...
Its called "Thundersnow" and its rare because of cloud formation variables that go into creating snow conditions and thunderstorms are very different. While rare, its more common than we notice because the snow in the air is able to muffle the sound and localize the experience.
