There was a recent debate going on about misogyny on the internet and the sheer scale of the hack basically got the internet gods to move quickly to squash this shit. That and Apple probably wasn't too happy that their file sharing shit was rumored to have been hacked. You fucking with some big money right there.

You would think that, in this day and age, people would realize that if you don't want nude photos of yourself leaked you would't put them on your computer or even worse, TRANSFER THEM TO THE INTERNET. That is all the cloud is, an online storage center.

Here is the lesson. Don't take stupid fucking pictures of yourself with your damned cellphone. Don't want others to see you naked? Don't take naked photos.

I love how common sense just flies out the window and now the US taxpayer has to pay for it. There is not such thing as safe, electronic storage as long as there is an online connection to that storage. I don't feel a bit sorry for any one of them.

Lol you think those celebrities are smart enough to understand what "The Cloud" is?

But to be fair.... something like Apple's Cloud storage space, prior to this hack, would have been considered a very safe place to keep any sensitive material one might have.

Cloud storage safety should not be a risk people need to worry about.... both of data leaking or being lost, those are normally 2 selling points on Cloud storage.

The main point about it being dumb allowing your iPhone Cloud backup to get your nude photos to me has more to do with the fact that once something hits "The Cloud" it is nearly impossible for it to ever be destroyed. This is a huge plus for people with data they do not ever want to lose.... family photos, important documents, medical records, etc. But it is a huge downside if you are letting your sexting pics go to the Cloud.

Makes me laugh that Apple has such a huge data leak in the Cloud storage based off a brute force attack....

I never said that the Cloud service is bad, or that using it is dumb. What is dumb is taking naked pictures of yourself with a digital device that is connected to the internet and then being suprised when someone steals the pictures.

My God, you would think that after the whole Anonymous thing, where top secret government secrets from multiple countries was published on the internet, that people would realize that NOTHING is ever safe on the internet. If someone hacks in and posts pictures of your family or friends having a cookout you might get ticked at stealing of the photos but you wouldn't be horrified at the embarrassment. But these idiots keep naked pictures of themselves as teenager and then are horrified when they show up on the internet.

Nothing is truly safe on a computer if it is attached to the internet and someone wants to find it. It doesn't matter if it is financial information, government secrets or naked pictures you took of yourself at 16. IF you don't want it on the net, don't make it accessable. History has shown us that there is no such thing as a foolproof online storage system.
