Apparently rice works because thanks to some liquid courage i decided to prematurely plug my phone into the computer.... So far its restoring the phone perfectly as if it were a new unused phone..... I don't kow if thats a bad sign or not...

I'll update what happens in a few minutes.

Its working. It took a few attempts to get it to restore. It was acting slightly funny so I put it back in the rice. Well see tomorrow.

My wife dropped her phone into a mop bucket full of water. The stickers that change color when they get wet never turned but the contacts where the power cord plugged in got corroded so she couldn't charge her battery. Luckily I had the exact same phone so we just charged both batteries on mine and swapped them back and forth.

My daughter lost her phone in our back yard in the middle of winter. We found it the following spring. Opened it up, took the battery out and let it dry out. It's worked perfectly ever since. It's just a cheap little flip phone that we got for a penny with our contract too.

For future reference if you drop your phone water while its under warranty you can buy those stickers off ebay
