I'm going to purchase my first smartphone in the near future, and wondered if any of you have/had any of these phones -- and perhaps some of you can even give me some tech info.

These are the 4 I'm looking at -- my options are relatively limited (I'm not looking to spend $100+ on a phone, though I get a hefty discount w/ signing a new 2-yr agreement) and 3g more than sufficient in my area. 4g would be great, but probably not worth the $$$ right now. I want a faster processor, great battery life, and a good camera.

Help, pls? Kinda leaning towards the samsung galaxy s2, but don't really know anyone that has it. everyone's got an iphone.

I think your two best options are the iphone and the s2. At that point, it's a matter of which OS do you like better. I've heard some people complain about lag on the s2 and that the s3 was a huge upgrade over it. But it's really preference. I personally have an iphone 4 and have no issues with it.

Ah, a Verizon piggyback carrier? At least thats what it looks like if the Desire 4G LTE is in the mix.

You wont go wrong with any of them. All good phones. But since I know you X, and know how you're not that good with tech jargons, just get the ip4s. The Galaxy S2 is a better phone, but I dunno how deep this bluegrass goes with its supported rom availabilities(piggy back carries sometimes are way behind on the best updates. Along with things like quality control and support, they don't want you to use the parent services PRL, an access list of which boosters you can access, they want you to use bluegrasswireless'.)

From what X says, he's best suited for the iphone 3. I would think you could still get the iphone 3 for free when you sign a contract and you'll get free future upgrades. We got the 3g for free with our plan over a year ago and are due for the free upgrade to 4g in a couple more months. 4g wasn't important to me at the time and to be honest, it's still not but it's a free upgrade so wtf.

I have about 5 of them on a family plan and haven't seen that happen with any of them. Maybe your friends have like 20 apps running at the same time cause they never closed them all the way. I have seen that happen w/my daughter but once you close them all it's back to normal.

I have the S2.. it's a great phone. Everyone I know has an Iphone... I don't get the hype, personally. Plus the iphone screen looks really small now that I've had the S2 for so long.

The S2 has a pretty good camera and the battery life isn't much better or worse than other smartphones... at least from what I've noticed. It depends on what you're doing on the phone. If you're watching a lot of videos and playing a lot of games, batteries on all phones get low pretty fast.

Maybe I'm biased because I have the S2 though.. idk. But because of the S2, I think I'm gonna stick with samsung for a while.

Personally, I've seen my iphone's battery last a little longer than some of the android phones when watching videos and using apps and stuff. Not specifically s2's though...could just be those other phones.

Got an s2 yesterday for free with another two year contract. I really like it. Posting from it right now. It's fast, has a big screen and 8 mega pixel camera.

Here's my tip as I have had both OS's. You need the latest android (Ice Cream?) otherwise the typeing for emails, txts are pretty bad IMO. I am an apple hater, but the typing so far has been best on an iPhone. I have a Samsung Stellar now with 4.0.4 Android. I am hoping 4.1 will be put on it to make my typing better. :)

For a simple transition from non-smart phone to smart phone. The Windows phones are pretty nice. I have the Galaxy S3 now, but the I had a windows phone in the past. The new ones are nice, a lot of good features and I personally like the aesthetic of the windows phone better the Galaxy S3.

I have an iphone 4S and love it. I had a 3GS also and the 4S is way better. Just my 2 cents on the matter!
