Here's my tip as I have had both OS's. You need the latest android (Ice Cream?) otherwise the typeing for emails, txts are pretty bad IMO. I am an apple hater, but the typing so far has been best on an iPhone. I have a Samsung Stellar now with 4.0.4 Android. I am hoping 4.1 will be put on it to make my typing better. :)

Isn't the S2 getting the JellyBean update?

Best recommendation, go use them.

If you are interested in an iPhone make sure you're good with buying into their ecosystem, their goal is to keep you there so if you don't like iTunes or whatever that should rule out the iPhone.

Each to their own... check them out and get what you like... always the best choice.

I have the I-phone 3 and have no negative remarks about it. I like that it's smaller... don't want to walk around with an ipad in my pocket...

I've owned iphones and android. Both have their pros and cons. Prior to the Samsung Galaxy S 1. The iPhone had no real competition. Now honestly it comes down to preference. Try them both out. See which one best meets your needs. For me personally 4.5+ screen size android phones with at least ics meet my needs. I currently have a galaxy nexus running the most recent version of android.

We have 3 iphone 4ses on a family plan with sprint (had at/t before which sucked in chicago) and are happy with them but if you hate apple, as shifty said, you might not like the interfacing.

Ya prick :)

This. I don't hate Apple at all, as I use many Apple products, happy whenever an American base(keyword, base) is a top tier manufacturer, ect. But being a slave to iTunes is such a massive negative to me. Of course, introducing something that I see as objective reasoning(customization and the added cost if you did want to use your own hardware, consumers choice for software all because of Apple's model and stupid licensing) pisses off the blind apple fanboys. Oh well, the blind apple fanboys are just a vocal minority, don't be like them because you're basically signaling that Apple can take a dump in a box, and you're going to buy it or defend its originality.

Unfortunately, I can't really mess with them long enough to get use to them. I mean, I'm familiar enough w/ an iPhone...and yes, it's ridiculously easy to use...but I hate that it's so damn hard to get away from it once you have one.

BANNED :hitler:

I don't live in Illinois, just a small town in KY...my provider is solid enough around here. Everyone seems to be happy w/ iPhones, though...

The new version of iTunes that just came out not too long ago is horrible. I had to uninstall it and find an older version that worked. ITunes on Macs is decent or it used to be but iTunes on Windows has almost always been crap.
