My teen years were in the 60's, and even back then we all knew smoking was bad for us..How anyone who came up in the 70-80-90s started smoking is beyond me,unless you lived in a cave and didn't know how dangerous it is

I got on that shit for a month.

It worked - made my body cravings go away though I did still want to smoke just because the habit of the activity. But it was easy to choose not to. Also made it so I wasn't thinking of smoking like 10 times every minute.

But I am pretty sure the shit altered my mood. I stared reading about the shit and some stuff sounds kinda scary, though most of the stories are probably bullshit. Still, kinda freaked me out a little.

Oh, and it was fuckin expensive.

The guy who went crazy on it in 2007 and ended up getting shot to death by his neighbor was a friend of a friend. They neglected to mention his .bac was also 0.27%.

Either way, I've heard the same about vivid dreams and behavior changes. I'm already a prick but if I do anything worse I'm just going to be locked in a room at home for the first weekend I'm on it.

I think the chatix altered my personality a little, but more subtle.

Either way, it was way less severe that when I quit cold turkey and was on edge for 2 months.

Also, supposedly chantix fill your pleasure receptors that are associated with nicotene. So you have to be careful when getting off it cause its easy to relapse.

Chantix is actually an anti-psychotic being used "off label" for smoking cessation. I literally wouldn't take it if you put a gun to my head. But then I don't smoke so ...

My mom was on chantix for a month. Didn't do anything. She smoked while she was on it. IDK what the success rate is for it. I know I quit smoking with a proper ecig(I have to say proper, because you can buy plenty of mall kiosk garbage ecigs).

I was on it for the past 3 weeks and stopped..... it really curbed the urge, but right around week 2 i was getting queasy and feeling like I was going to hurl about 5-10 minutes after I took it. the queasy feeling only lasted a few minutes, but it still sucked.
I stopped taking it and have been using the E-cig with lessening frequency.
went from about 2 packs a day to roughly a half a pack now and dropping.

Thank you-
I was a light smoker my whole life, but it had ramped up considerably the last few years.

I think the cutting back has been so easy simply due to the fact that I honestly only take 4-5 drags off of every smoke I light.

Interesting side effect of Chantix.... it also cut my urge to drink coffee. I was a 3-4 cup a morning guy and I would hit starbucks on the way to work, and now I do maybe a mug of coffee and a venti coffee that I half finish on the way to work.
I am unsure if the Chantix is responsible, or if Coffee was psychologically tied to smoking. Either way, it works for me.
