He is great and 2nd in the league in goals. Unless there is some age restriction I'm unaware of, he should be the favorite for Rookie of the Year. What do you think?

Never mind, he played professionally in Uruguay of course, and that disqualified him.

I've watched 2 fire games this season...and in both of them Chavez has stuck out to me...Dude can play.

He does have a third of our team's goals, and that's saying a lot, as last I checked, we were tied for the most goals in the league.

Chaves could still qualify for the "newcomer of the year" award.....the award was developed to reward players that are not rookies, but may be new to MLS.

Although, to be fair, given his current form and lack of production, I wouldn't put any money on him getting this award unless he really picks it up.
