and hate how Chicagoans have a national recognition of being pompous, arrogant pricks who think they live in best city of the world. Or, as some call it, "my city".

Really? As far as big cities go, I've always thought of Chicago as having some really cool people. People from L.A. seem far more pompous, and New Yorkers seem way more arrogant than Chicagoans. It's a big city with a small-town feel.

Ask around the country the general portrait of chicago. I don't know why anyone that lives around chicago gets so defensive; it's their opinion not ours.

Hmm, I've never heard of that stereotype for Chicagoans. I live in LA, and there's plenty of pompous and arrogant pricks here. And I took an LA friend of mine with me to Chicago to watch a Bears game. That weekend, we hit up some of the local bars and hotspots, and he came away thinking that Chicagoans are really down to earth people, complete opposite of the LA stereotype.

That's cool. And I have a friend who lives in the la area who says majority think Chicagoans are arrogant dickheads. I also have a best friend who lives in Nashville and says since moving there he's realized and understands why Chicagoans are frowned up/roll there eyes at Chicagoans.

I love downtown, I'm just saying what I've heard. No reason to hate on me in this instance .
