I read it and heard it via a couple of sources. Its not a big deal but it is not a strength. The more significant factor to me is that this guy has always been split wide and hasn't run a lot of different routes. He also wasn't recruited out of high school. Why? He went to JUCO and then to WV who ran a wide open gimmick sort of offense. There certainly were a lot of other receivers available in later rounds who had his measureables and came and competed against better opponents. I think the guy is a wild card.
I am going to guess you aren't a big college football fan.
He had 40 catches as a first yr player at WVU, so he isn't a one yr wonder. 40 catches in your first yr in an offense is solid if not spectacular.
He was young coming out of H.S. and who knows what system his H.S. program had or QB/OL to allow a passing attack to flourish, so your comment on him not being recruited is ridiculous...
"Gimmick offense".....I suppose you can call most of the offenses in CFB gimmicks then, lol...including THE Ohio St which runs a modified spread. Guess we can't draft any offensive players from Ohio St. in the coming yrs like any of the QBs or the RB who is probably the top RB coming into 2015...at the very least top 3.
You also realize WVU has joined the B12 and plays good programs OOC consistently, right?
Dude, you just have no clue.
