Chicago Bears vs Atlanta Falsons--How cold was that game?

I flew out to Chicago for that game. What I remember was game time temperature of 2 degrees, and -19 with the wind chill. So true about he beer, frozen immediately, how to down it. Switched to mixed drinks, that didn't freeze as quick for some reason. The Urlacher/Vick comment was correct, he personally shut down Vick, and I don't think I have ever seen a stadium erupt more on a complete pass then when Grossman came in. A game to remember for sure.

Truly was magical when Rex came in, no joke. That was amazing.

Theismann was at the same bar as me the night before, Mothers Hubbard. I didn't go up to talk to him about the game because I never did like him, even though he grew up in the town right next to mine, he is from South River, NJ.

Googled this game because we were talking about coldest Bears games and always go back to this one..

At the time, A cousin of mine had a maid service business. He happened to land Grossman's place via a friend of Rex's father Dan..

All season my cousin jokingly asked Dan if we could get tickets to a game.. That week, I'm assuming after the weather was confirmed, Dan offered my cousin 4 tickets to this game.

Seats were in what was at the time called the Cadillac Club, 45 yd line..

Yes beers would freeze in minutes so we switched to hard liquor and those also iced up quickly. Beer spills would instantly freeze on our coats and break off in ice sheets..

I've been to many many games in my years but this is for top 3 most memorable..

Had a Carhardt body suit and probably 3 sweatshirts on, sitting in the nosebleeds. Bears were outplayed all game but got a late kick return by Manning, tied it up, and blocked a 35 yard FG at the end. Won in OT on a lucky play.

Your memory of the game is a little inaccurate. Manning's KR came before the end of the first half. Only yielded them a FG. Bears were down 14-3 at half. Tied the the game at 17 on a Matt Forte TD with 3 minutes left after a long drive. Then the other Adrian Peterson committed a horse collar penalty, setting GB up for a GW FG but Alex Brown blocked it. There was no lucky play in OT. Bears drove right down the field and Gould drilled a winner.
