As for the schedule...I'm a little ass hurt the Hawks are only gonna be in Phoenix once this year (yeah...I live here)....and in March no less!!!!! As for a C...I'm thinkin' Thornton is a more realistic get...especially if Sharpie is bein' dealt. Yes...1st post. Be gentle on me. Been lurking and following you boneheads for a couple years....good group.

Not a fan of Thornton. AKA the Snowman. He always seem to disappear in the spring. I just don't see good play from him. I think he is a good C, no doubt, but I would rather almost any other C. Brad Richards, if he could be had for cheap, I think would be a better route.

I just don't see where the money is for any of those guys, seeing as they have to bring back Smith, sign a back up goalie, fill out the roster. Unless someone like Richards is going to sign for like 2 million, probably less, I don't see it happening.

I think at this point in his career, plus just getting bought out, leaves Richards just wanting to win a cup again instead of a shit ton of money. You could possibly get him for 2-3 million.

Not doubting he wouldn't join a team for that opprotunity, but I don't think they'd even be able to offer something between 2-3 million. It'd probably have to be below 2 million.

He's a better 2nd line center than Zeus. Plus, he could come rather cheap. In an offensive system like we have, he could potentially thrive.

He also, advanced stats wise, was one of the best forwards for the Rangers next to Kreider and Nash offensively. He also played against equal competition. He started 66% of his shifts in the offensive zone and ended 56% of them there. He's an offensive center who's still got some life in him.

People can bash him for his playoff season, but Sharp had an equally bad playoffs and I'm positive 29 other teams in the league would easily be willing to take him off the Hawks hands.

Plus, unlike Kesler, we won't have to lose a key player or prospect such as TT to get him (unless we decide to trade someone for cap reasons regardless). Yeah, he's no Kesler, but he might be a better option for the team overall.
