It's honestly not even about just this loss.
It's about the fact that we have a 12th man making 1.4 million (purely because of his tenure) that "knows the fundamentals of Thibs' O/D" but can't move well enough to execute the offense/defense when we NEED HIM TO, and no longer has the set-shot that he entered the league in. In a league that has gone the route of the "arm's race" and stockpiling talent to make a run at the ship, the extra million you could have by having Luke Babbit as your 12th man means the difference in the depth you have at the 7th/8th/9th men.
I'm fully aware that Scal helps the "chemistry" of the team. But, to me, it's just not worth wasting a spot on the roster. Give the man a suit, tie, and clipboard. No one says he can't impact his team. But he's nothing more than a 1.5 million dollar assistant coach...and ESPECIALLY when we are missing a ton of front court depth, the worst case scenario comes to fruition when you have to watch him play extended minutes.
I understand he's a fan favorite, but jesus...are we going to be supporting the extended use of Scalabrine during this time of injury plague in a couple months when these "just one loss" games decides whether we get the Bucks or Celtics in the first round?
