The Bulls forum is getting quite a bit of debates and discussions. Most have been good debates and discussions until they are killed by some trolling, off topic discussions, and some personal attacks. This is a turn-off for a guest reading the forum, and not sure about you guys, but I would like more guests to sign up for discussions.

I'll be the first to admit, I'm not 100% always right when it comes to the Bulls, NBA, and even basketball in general. Thats what forums are for, to discuss opinions, and thoughts. Again you guys bring great discussion and debates, but make sure you keep them on the topic of the thread, refrain from personal attacks, even if the person doesn't agree with you, and if you are trying to post something please back it up with some sort of refernce, i.e Article, Statistics, etc. those always help.

Lets make this a fun environment for all, and enjoyable to the guests who read this. Any questions post here, VM or PM me. :bullbang:

No way should Ben Wallace start over Robert Parrish.

I didn't say there couldn't be any. The threads need to stop being from D-Rose & Pippen Discussion to Pippen vs. Barkley. Again every thread that has been closed was a great topic of discussion, it unfortunately got off topic and they had to be closed.

I admit I have been a little off the wall lately, but with the lockout going on, I am doing my part to keep this forum at least alittle bit interesting for all to enjoy...Obviously I'm doing a pretty good job...Just look at the viewer counts and reply counts skyrocket when I enter the scene..I would say that is good for this forum and makes it a littlle less depressing during a time when the NBA is in turmoil...I'm pretty sure once the lockout is over, discussions on the forum will be a lot more serious and relevent...Ill even be much more serious when there are actual topics worth being serious about...But for now, why can't we just have fun..At least its all basketball related....One thing I will do is try and be a little bit nicer to Hue and Rami even though most of there staements as of late have been pretty ridiculous and hateful, especially towards the 2nd best Bulls player in history, Scottie Pippen...I don't know where all the disrespect toward the guy has come from..But I guess they have a right to have hateful opinions and false facets about PiP.....Have a nice day and peace be with you all...GO BULLS!!!!!

Well I've never seen a forum topic stay on topic. :dunno: Some mods have gone a little crazy closing threads with good discussion, and not closing threads like the 94/11 Bulls thread.

You see? It's baseless claims like these that gets you all the negative attention here.

To me, what you just said is flat out disrespectful in itself just because how flagrantly false it is.

that's my thought too...

How many converations/aruments stay on topic? Not many...

As long as it's about basketball, and not some random stuff like what we did on the weekend, then who cares?

I was about to respond on some threads, and by the time I pressed "submit reply" the thread was locked and I couldn't post... wth?

That is going a bit too far there. I think you are missing the whole point. The disrespect that goes on is why all of the arguments go on and on.

Threads never stay 100% on-point. Closing every single one that does and deleting off-topic posts is not the solution.

Punish the trolls who name-call and act disrespectfully instead.

You guys do us a favor and report posts that you believe are ruining the quality discussion of a thread.

It's a little ok to deviate from the topic of the thread, as long as everybody retains a small level of respect for the person they are arguing with.

We don't want to moderate but when every thread is a spat, it gets annoying.

Rami, BnB, Houf, you guys keep an eye on the threads and let me know when I need to step up, cool?

It's not really as much going off topic we are trying to stop. Yeah can you compare one player to another sure. It's more the personal attacks, and stuff that just makes the forum look bad that we need to try and cut down on.

What was wrong with the 94/11 thread????...I started the thread with good intentions on an interesting topic..It was other posters that started getting disrespectful and off topic...It started out as a topic about 2 teams in differant eras and ended up as a Pippen war..I never thought the thread would go on forever when I started it...But then again, if it wasn't an interesting topic it wouldn't have attracted so much interest and viewers..It should of stayed open because the new thread that was put up by another member has turned into the same debate that was on my thread that is now closed...I thought I did well and did my part to help make chicitysports the best bulls messageboard in all the land...Shouldn't I get some sort of award or somthing???..I'm a forum hero...Just ask the idiots on ESPN messageboard..I'm a living legend..

Sounds good. When the boundaries of respect get crossed in a thread, from this point on... it is going to get pointed out. Whether it is me who starts it or anyone else.

Argue all you want, just don't go overboard with "you're the idiot, no you're the idiot" type posts.

A little give & take is 100% ok but when it turns personal and it's no longer about sports that is when it needs to be stopped.

Also SP1994, please cut out the ESPN Message board talk. They banned you....big deal. You are 1 of millions of posters to be banned from that shitfest, it isn't anything to brag about.

The discussions on that thread carried over from a different thread in which you were going on rants about how Houf and myself were idiots and disrespecting Pippen.

Thats what we planned on doing. I posted the same thread in the staff forum saying this was kinda the warning system to those posters, and a reminder sort of thing for the good ones not to get sucked into it.

As far as the ones that were deleted off topic posts, they didn't belong in there.

Also the 94/11 was a great discussion thread, until I get emails at night with reported posts :p

The things that got most of those threads closed, was the "you don't agree with me, so you a blah blah blah" type of thing. Thats why I posted about the reference, if you want to prove something back it up

i agree with alot of the stuff that has been said on here..alot of good discussion goes on the bulls forum...just need to refrain some escalating arguments and personal attacks:shifty:

and although SP1994's ramblings are sometimes entertaining..they are getting very old...and he needs to stop at some point..or atleast contribute a little more to the argument:shifty:

We are going to need to learn to respect each other. I will respect that some of the people here seem to think Pippen was just as important as Jordan. And they will respect my, and many others', belief that Pippen was never a top 5 player in the NBA. We can have debates but we are going to need to learn to agree to disagree and try to find common ground.
