When Curtis Granderson was first called up, his strikeout habit was also a big concern, but look at him now. Sure he still strikes out quite a bit, but he produces well enough to be a pretty solid CF. In no way am I saying that Jackson will be the next Granderson, but I will look to him as an example of what Jackson could grow into with the right approach and patience at the plate. Like you said, dabs, if he can be a consistent source of power and gets on base at an above-average to good rate then the Ks won't be as much of a concern.

Just a tad bit of optimism for Brett. I do like the guy so I'm hoping he pans out. At the very least, he's got a serviceable glove in center.

Soriano's been scratched. Guess LaHair gets another shot at trying to regain his awesome.

Wait a fucking minute...shouldn't the better defender be in RF?

Usually but I don't know each park has it own little quirks. I am guessing Sveum is figuring that he shouldn't mess with the weaker defender in the OF.

6 straight K's. I wonder what the record for consecutive K's by a hitter is?

Actually that is six straight since he struck out in his last at bat of his first game.

Most consecutive K's by a hitter:

Daniel Cabrera now has the record at 18 during the 2009 season. 2nd place belongs to Juan Eichelberger of the Padres who had 15 in 1980, as well as Mike Thurman in 1998. In 3rd place is Bill Hands of the Cubs with 14 strikeouts in 1968. Sandy Koufax is in fourth place for consecutive strikeouts, having been set down in 12 straight plate appearances in 1955.

Safe to say Jackson may not reach these numbers.... Hopefully.

Twice as many strikes as balls thrown so far. That's good.

Two on, no out for Raley. Time to show what he's got.
