k, it still says Hak-Ju would just be considered. If we can pull this off without trading any of the guys you mentioned AND Lee it would be one of the Cubs best trades ever. And Archer would thrive at PETCO.

Well yeah because we are basically giving up nothing.
In order for us to have a prayer of getting A-Gon Castro or Vitters is most likely going. Hopefully its Vitters.
If we could do Vitters/Archer/lower level pitcher for A-Gon and a 72 hour time to work out an extension, I would be all over it.
I think A-Gon is just a notch below Pujols.

Padres want a backup catcher according to MLBTR (in a non-Gonzalez-related rumor), so maybe they'd take Chirinos or Castillo as a main part of the deal and Archer, since we'd have to trade him.

I'm talking specifically about Gonzo. Teams do that kind of thing midseason, I cannot think of any time they've done it with a top 5 or 10 player in the league, during the offseason.
