A storybook ending would involve a World Series hoisted in Wrigley Field. Everything else is in the eye of the beholder.

That ship had sailed. I was looking for a pragmatic storybook ending.

I'm willing to deal with slightly less sucky at this point in the year as a moral victory.

I think we'll just blame Steve Clevenger for all this. It's obviously the catcher's fault :shifty:

Not a story book ending if this is indeed his final start.

It's not his fault his team can't score for him. If you can hold the Cardinals offense to four runs you've done okay. Naturally you wish he could've thrown a shutout, but that's what it is...wishful thinking.

I didn't think it was bad, but it just wasn't the storybook ending that the last couple of games at Wrigley would have been is all I was saying.

It's a shitty story.

:cubstroll:

It was a better story than declining veteran playing out the string that it looked like at the end of last year :cubstroll:

Both stories suck
I love this back and forth :lmao::lmao:

Maine has been missing an impressive number of bats to be honest. Missing a lot of the strike zone as well though.

Luis Valbuena by rule is not allowed to get a hit if there isn't runners in scoring position.
