I had no idea the gun violence was so widespread. I just made an ass of myself by assuming it was localized in certain neighborhoods. Unless there is a gang in each neighborhood, then it can't all be explained away as gang violence.

That's some interesting shit, but I can't begin to understand how to interpret what this means.... any thoughts?

Yes, she was at a bus stop on the south side with a group of teens, and a gunman fired a barrage into them. Authorities are saying some of the teens may have had gang affiliations and she was not the intended target. I'll bet dollars to donuts the gunman did not obtain his weapon legally.



Only a week or so ago she performed at Obama's innaugriation with her high school band or musical group.

It's a sad story indeed. Unfortunately all too common, I believe they said somewhere that there have been 40 homocides already in Chicago this year? It's always said when this happens and I feel for her family. I feel even worse for them as this gets dragged through the politicizing mud. Where were the national headlines for these stories before the gun debate and Newtown. I bet there were several of these stories last year but not one person knows the name of the victim.
