Are the Jackhammers still up in the air?

They went defunct. The city of Joliet didn't want them to be in the North American League. They wanted a Frontier League team instead, and were given one after evicting the JackHammers.

In your sig.... how are the bruisers a major team, yet the fire are semi-major?

The American Football League definitely isn't a major league. I think MAJOR League Soccer speaks for itself...

The American Football League claims to be major. The MLS seeks parity with the established Major Leagues but hasn't claimed that status themselves, part from their name.

I like the Fire, but nobody else seems to care.
