I just hope those mariners left the bats in Texas damn 21 runs.

Our pitching is better than there's.
And that was kind of a fluke game. You don't score 21 runs every game. Not even every year.
That is why their ERA is better by .22 runs and their ERA+ is better by 10
But as far as matchups. Other than Floyd having a .01 higher ERA, every other matchup the Sox pitcher has a better ERA.
Are we talking about the same thing? I thought the our pitching line was in reference to the Rangers.
There is an argument for the Sox been better I agree, but I just didn't think it was as clear cut as the statement you made it appear. Also if Oswalt has anything left in the tank that makes that staff even more dangerous.
But he's not the guy that gave up 21 runs. What I basically meant was that the pitchers that pitched that gave up 21 runs are worse than Peavy, Floyd, and Sale. And the Sox bullpen is probably better than the Rangers one too. Pretty close there as the Sox bullpen is young and sample size kind of plays in.
Yeah I don't know about that whole bullpen part. The Rangers pen is pretty good. They had a bad day which is pretty easy to have once in a while at that ballpark. I agree ultimately that the Mariners scoring 21 runs has little effect on the offensive performance they will have against the Sox, but I also wouldn't write off the Rangers pitchers that day as clearly worse than what the Sox will put up against the M's.
Well I highly doubt the Mariners score 21 runs again as well, but that has very little to do with the pitching they face.
Derek Holland is still a pretty good pitcher, and I think you guys would gladly take him over Gavin Floyd. And the Rangers threw guys like Mike Adams, Koji Uehera, and Alexi Ogando in that game as well all of whom would be capable of finding a home in the Sox pen.
The matchups favor you guys in the series, but this is baseball. We shall see.
I agree with about everything you posted there except for the momentum comment. As my favorite manager said momentum is the next day's starting pitcher.
