The Chicago Tribune is starting up a website called "Chicagonow" which is to compete with the likes of espnchicago.com.

Anyway, I've been contacted to be the Chicago Bulls blogger for this new venture. If you're interested my blog is up at:

http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chicago-bulls-confidential/

The login is: cn
the password is: cn

It's in alpha mode I suppose. The password is supposed to come off any day now, but I guess there is an issue with people uploading profile pictures and something with logging in if you use internet explorer.

Great point on Jake Peavy DT.

Uncle Jerry will spend money on his bad baseball team, but we can't dare go over the tax to re-sign Gordon.

It's embarrassing given that the Bulls are a money press relative to the White Sox too.

If he can manage to take over Neil Funk's duties, he will be inl ine to be the GM after Gar.

A guy who wears his pants up to his nipples should not be making personnel decisions for the Bulls.

I'm amazed he even signed MJ to a big contract toward the end of his tenure with the Bulls.

That would imply that Funk is presently inline for the GM job which is scary.

Finally we have somebody who is pro Gordon for Tribune. I do like say though that Peavy point isn't that valid considering they dropped off 20 million dollars from payroll from last year to make moves like this. None the less I really looking forward to reading your stuff. Who else is working there?

The point is valid because the Bulls make 4x the money the White Sox do over the past decade. If the Bulls could run at the same profit margin as the White Sox, they could add about 15 million in salary going 10 million into the luxury tax.

Sure they could, but Reinsdorf doesn't care about the Bulls. Do you have the exact numbers or are you just guessing? Im sure he made alot of money off that new spring training complex though

Numbers were based on Forbes articles linked within the blog. The Bulls averaged 44 million and change in profit for the past 10 years, the White Sox averaged 12 million.

The White Sox also had that total ramped up because they actually won a title during that period whereas the Bulls have not even had a real deep playoff run.

And I agree with your point, Reinsdorf does not appear to care about the Bulls, which is why I was stated that Reinsdorf loses all credibility with Bulls fans (not that he likely has much anyway).

Ya I totally agree that all he cares about is the Sox. Lets see if Gar and Paxson guiding force can resist Reinsdorf devilish acts. I would of went bananas though if we acquired Peavy and didn't resign Gordon just because of all money he would of given Peavy if he were traded. I heard that the reason the trade was hold up was because he wouldn't guarantee 22 million and wouldn't give him opt out clause

Probably never, given that 1) No one cares about the Bulls and 2) I only casually follow other Chicago sports (except the Bears I suppose where I would rate my knowledge somewhere ahead of casual fan, but somewhere below expert analyst).

Since they aren't even giving me a media pass right now, I don't think my TV debut is any time soon.

Will you still be a season ticket holder? I am guessing yes.

Yeah though I can only make it to 10 games a year or so.

I still hope to see you on the board you helped create, I know you wont be on as much but a few appearances and updates would be great.
