My favorite teams
Ted Williams wrote the hitters bible. The Science of Hitting. I also have Hriniak's book and Lau's. They don't have much value at all. Williams has the roadmap for not only plate discipline/getting a good pitch to hit, and slight upswing (Hriniak said that didn't matter), but also discussed where power came from.I don't recall anyone saying Ted Williams was a great coach
Bryant's dad played in the Red Sox organization and got hitting tips from Williams. He trained Kris understanding some of those tips.

You'll also note a name in that article, Mike Epstein, who was the cleanup hitter for the 72 Oakland A's WS winner. Mike went on to become a very successful hitting coach. Mike was an instrumental guru in the 90's/early 2000's getting rid of the swing down nonsense. Williams was his mentor.1968 Washington Senators team OBA+SlgA = .620
League average O+S = .636
1969 Senators under Ted Williams OBA+SlgA= ..706
League average O+S = .690
