What was his reasoning for having Anderson as the 5th edge?
He watches film and grades by this. Andersons 2021 was far better than his 2022. If you want his explanation it’s a pretty short watch, they have time stamps.

As former offensive lineman, both Poles & Cunningham should be experts at identifying the best talent that fits the Bears scheme.

Did he even make the practice squad??? I don't think he did. He might think J'Taco is an oline god.

I like Chris Simms' rankings to be honest they're good content but O line isn't typically his strongest area. He wasn't high on Tristan Wirfs or Rashaan Slater coming out. The fact that he has PJJ at No 3 on his list gives me more confidence that he's our guy.

And as a former QB, Chris Simms is not an expert at even evaluating QB's.

People give him credit for liking lamar and mahomes but it seems like he just picks a lower touted prospect and makes him #1 on his board to get clicks. His big board from 2021 is awful:

1) Zach Wilson
2) Trevor
3) Mac Jones
4) Kellen Mond
5) Justin Fields

Liking Zach over trevor. Yea, this dude is in it for clicks
The thing is, he didn't rate Mahomes that high BEFORE the draft yet still gets credit for some reason. Had Watson #1, Trubisky #2 and Mahomes #3 with a bunch of mopes depending on team desires but did have him as his personal choice as #3 simply due to upside.

What was his reasoning for having Anderson as the 5th edge?

He says Anderson doesn't have any outstanding traits. He doesn't have elite length, strength, bend or get off. His Combine numbers are in the lower percentile and Simms is big on what the player is NOW, not what he did 2 years ago. He still likes him a lot and says he will be a first rounder.

But he was high on Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen & Justin Herbert when large portions of NFL media weren't. I guess that's given him some credit in the bank for misses like Zach Wilson.

A lot of people were high on Herbert. Simms wasn’t some outlier

His 2021 QB rankings weren't his best but from ~17 - 20 were pretty good & that's where he built up his cache.

But again, I rate his QB rankings but not his Oline rankings.

The majority had Tua above him though & Simms didn't
Well now that Tua has weapons that Herbert has, can’t really say Herbert over Tua is a sure thing. Herbert’s shitty 2nd half in the playoff game helped Jax come back.

I like Tua but there's no way he's as good as Herbert. Herbert with Tyreek & Waddle in McDaniels offense would be crazy.

So his wide receiver rankings were 0 for 5?
His ratings are not a prediction of where he thinks they will go or how the draft will fall, his ratings are a projection on how he thinks they will perform in the nfl.

His rankings were:
1 DK Metcalf
2Parris Campbell
3Marquise Brown
4Deebo Samuel
5 AJ Brown

The draft went:
Marquise Brown 25
N'keal Harry 32
Deebo Samuel 36
AJ Brown 51
Mecole Hardman 56
JJ Arcega Whiteside 57
Parris Campbell 59
Andy Isabella 62
DK Metcalf 64
Diontae Johnson 66
Jalen Hurd 67

He was clearly higher on DK metcalf than the rest of the NFL. He missed on Parris campbell. ?‍♂️
