Yea or Nay? And where?

This is becoming quite a marital discussion.

Depends where they are.

On your house: Nay

On a guardrail of a porch or something: okay

so no holiday lights anywhere, ever (outside the holiday season, which is when to when, exactly, for you)? not even in your man cave? what about all-white ones?

well, remind me never to invite you all over for a bears game in my holiday-light-adorned garage cave. I put the lights on full tilt and **** anyone who disagrees. Wired them to be navy and orange.

wife wants me to take them down but I let her know who paid for that garage.

How about I **** you and put holiday lights in your garage, too?

I am not in favor of the Death penalty but would make an exception for people who light Christmas lights year round.

Or even early November or into January.

you totally sound like wife. she lets me keep the all-white ones indoors but just made me take them down in the garage and the front porch. nobody sees them in our garage, or our front porch for that matter (except the delivery guy -- our front porch doesn't face the street). she argues that it irritates neighbors like, presumably, you. I don't keep them on all night, and this does happen to be my property.

have you ever lived in Chicago? it's OUR front porch. our garage faces the street. our porch faces a snow removal lot. Kindly get back to me when your housing plans aren't so projectionist.

How does everyone @here feel about Halloween lights? Got this one house in my neighborhood who goes all out. Like 40 blow up things, a fence and lights. Always thought it was a bit much

No, but the only exception is the guy in my neck of the woods who has a santa dropping trou and a string of yellow rope lights which make it look like he's taking a piss on their house--which is plainly visible from a highway.

Unless you're going to offend people who need to be offended, take it down

I live in the city, and one long street decorates for Halloween every year. Lights, yards (or front plots at best), etc, and it's pretty neat. Especially since it's for the kids. They do a trick or treat event down that road every year. Kids in the city (parents being careful).

I don't see much of it in the suburban areas. Not a big fan of the big blow ups.

To answer Oles question. I just went over someones house for dinner Sunday and they had their tree up. Wanted to take it down for them. I have another friend that's family lost their baby around christmas time, so they leave the tree up year round in remembrance. So it's all situational.

Decorative lights, vs full blown year round holiday lights are two different things. Take that shit down if it's holiday driven.

Not sure your man cave (garage) falls into the category you referenced in the original question.

Leaving Christmas lights on all year is quite the redneck/hillbilly thing in Indiana....at least the southern part!
