have you ever lived in Chicago? it's OUR front porch. our garage faces the street. our porch faces a snow removal lot. Kindly get back to me when your housing plans aren't so projectionist.

So people on the street could see the lights in the garage, but not on the front porch? Why did you bother putting lights on the porch then?

Has nobody mentioned the environment and climate change/global warming?

This is the kind of thing that could push us over the edge in less than 12 years.

I know right? It also makes people leave their Christmas lights up an aggravatingly long time as well.

Where I walk my dogs there is a house that still has fucking luminarias out. Those FTR are supposed to be put up the night before Christmas and taken down the day after.

Being just a paper bag with some sand and a candle in them you can imagine how they look a month later.

I have strings of those battery operated lights, and I put them in an empty cider jar, and use it as a night light.

I won't add to the loss of our night sky by putting more lights outside though. Unless I need them, or they look cool.

Exactly. That's why I haven't put up Xmas lights in two years. Not because I was to lazy
