Given his price tag sure, but how much they try to bring him back after that is what we are determining at this point.

They probably offer him the minor league deal and say take it or leave it. Doubt anyone else wants to give him more than that. If he'd rather be a minor league depth guy for a contender it's no loss for the Cubs I think.

At this point I would say that is the case, but if he strings some nice outings together to finish the last two months he might get a little more whether it is from the Cubs or another team.

They could try what they did with Samardzija and offer him the maximum paycut after a non-tender.

Soriano has a chance to give Volstad a chance at a victory here.

I thought Castro got enough of it, and I love the way Rizzo slammed into the catcher to make sure he tied the game.

Somewhat, he did bobble a pretty easy double play ball in the first that didn't cost us anything except a few more pitches from Volstad in the first.
