lol..not to mention the gas you use getting there.

Long as I can use the car.. It's a lot better than the pickup..

Realistically if I get engines and stuff online I'll still end up paying like 15+ shipping.. So travel/shipping is pretty neutral.

Took a slight break from working on the layout today.. I had to do some interesting track work over the weekend.. and still a small bit more to do..

I did however go trackside for the real ones.. and saw this.

Frankfort Roundhouseclick link to watch a small video on development concept

They want to fix it up a little and add some stuff around it....

Business complex/interpretive center with the latest technological equipment to support our community and economic development.
Museum for enthusiasts to provide education focusing on the vital historical and ongoing role of the railroad.
Boutiques, lodging and eateries to promote our community and create new growth opportunities.
The crown jewel in a comprehensive plan to revitalize the “Gem City”

Historic Nickel Plate Roundhouse Feasibility Study
Frankfort, Indiana

Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf Architects completed this planning study in the Spring of 2011 as a first step in moving forward with the reuse of the Historic Nickel Plate Roundhouse. Multiple railroad companies used the complex, portions of which date to the 1890s and the 1920s, as a maintenance facility for locomatives and rail cars. The roundhouse facility was one of Frankfort’s major employers until its closure in the 1990s. The reuse plan suggested the facility be adapted into a conference/event center with a museum and restaurant component.
