That sounds really cool man make sure to post videos every so often! So when did you start?

There will be a layout update this upcoming week.

Weve had prior versions in the same room.. and its all been torn down before to repair the basement.. its a 100 year old house.

The benchwork and foam base has been in place for about 5 years but we never had the chance to get working on it till now.. mainly due to having other stuff around the basement being repaired.

Now looking into the wiring for the turntable and engine facilities..

Plus signals and crossing lights/gates

So looking at the wiring that is necessary for the turntable..

This will be something that might be an issue....

Gonna be working in the basement this afternoon.. Hoping to have a new update video either tonight or else at worst in a few days..

Probably tonight though.

I'm fooling with the idea of super elevating some of the turns to make it easier for larger cars to work..

Here's a video of a real train going over a super elevated curve.

Union Pacific Autorack Train - YouTube

You'll notice how the train turns at an angle.. Similar to a racetrack.

That makes it less stressful on larger rolling stock to make the turns and allows for faster speeds.
