Typical Bears move.

Go with a no name coordinator who's fine with loser Poles in charge.
His name has been mentioned for weeks. I don’t know anything about him really but it shouldn’t be a surprise. Weaver is the only one who was a surprise to me but I guess he got interest last year

Seems a bit too wide... I'd think you dump some resumes in the initial screening, but they may realize their situation is bad and they may lose out on a lot of candidates and need to have ducks in a row if that happens.
If I've learned anything working with consulting groups, it's they will try and show their value with an overwhelming amount of work product.

When I think of modern, explosive offenses, I think of the 2024 Arizona Cardinals.
Particularly impressive is how they elevated the generational talent that is MHJ.

I asked @Rise the following question in another thread:

I'm curious what you think about coaches like Chuck Pagano, Mike Smith, Mike Zimmer, Jason Garrett, and Mike Martz?

Now he probably just hasn't gotten around to it yet, but I'll open it up to others to share their thoughts on those 5 former head coaches. Bonus points if you can name what all five of them have in common.

They all have better winning percentages than Mike Vrabel.

So we can throw around platitudes like "leader of men" and "accountability" and such other stuff, the bottom line is he hasn't really won much.

Yeah i'm right there with you on my top two being Mike Vrabel and Ben Johnson. They've been my top two all along but pretty sure the Patriots firing of Mayo was for Mike Vrabel. They have their QB and a ton of cap money to spend (think it's like $133 mil or some shit like that) with their draft picks. To get Ben Johnson the Bears would have to be all in with him. Huge contract and if he wants Poles gone then that's what we would need to do and just not sure our ownership will let those things happen.
Too bad the Patriots wasted all that time, Vrabel interview with the Jets 3 days ago.

And I have no clue why he would prefer the jets over a team he played for with a much better cap + draft situation.

They also have a QB(hopefully), while the Jets are going to be in play for justin bustin

Context matters.

According to Adam Hoge, yes. Listen to the link in that post.

Additionally, this:

Sounds like this is coming from Johnson's agent. Likely to drive up the asking price for Johnson. Agent doing agent things.

Lincoln Riley coached Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield, and Caleb Williams. Drew Petzing was KM's OC, the TE coach in CLE while BM was there and he drives a Lincoln, duh?

I’d say Ben Johnson will prefer the Patriots job over the Bears. Ownership is 100x better and that’s something that the Bears can’t fix. They also have a more prototypical NFL QB in Maye. Caleb has more talent but the question is will he ever play within a system consistently.

He's not going to the Pats. Vrabel is their guy.
