lol dudes got issues

Yea, he's got issues. His ex-girlfriend was murdered, and the child that is rumoured as being his, now is withouts its mother. Shortly after he gets "punished" for that, missing out on millions and millions of dollars. Yea, I'd call that issues.

I get this move by him and his agent. It's risky, but sometimes you've got to take some risks when in an bad situation.

Per Greg Gabriel, Collins cannot resubmit himself for next year's draft.

He's gonna make the mistake of not signing and the NFL saying no to a re-enter, then being forced to sign a UDFA contract or not playing in the NFL.

Wow, so there must be a rule that says if you go undrafted, then you cannot enter the draft again. So he may have shot himself in the foot by warning teams not to draft him. If that's indeed the case, then his agent should have kept his mouth shut, let someone draft him, then refused to sign. Under that scenario, I believe he's allowed to reenter next year's draft.

If he doesn't get drafted and re-enters, he will not have played in over a year against any competition. That will hurt him even more.

People will say he can just go to the CFL? Why would he want to do that? He is putting himself at huge risk of an injury. In the CFL, an average player's salary is around $80,000, an eighth of a NFL fourth round player's salary. Plus, if the victim's baby is his son, he is going to have a hard time raising him with a CFL salary, instead of an NFL one. We all know by now that he does care about the money and I think he just needs to accept if and when he is drafted.

Nope, if he is exonerated and misses a year, he can train at the Bentley lineman academy for a year and at least get drafted in the 3rd.

The thinking is this: But for the murder investigation in which he's not officially a suspect, he would have been drafted in the first round and made millions. His stock is as low as it can get because of this investigation. He is confident that he can clear his name, and once he does, he thinks he will attain first round status again. The problem is that he can't clear his name until Monday at the earliest, since that is when the police will interview him. By then, the draft is already over. He believes that he is 100% innocent and that his name will be cleared. So rather sign a contract fit for a 3rd rounder or less, he will forgo that money and be drafted in the first round next year and more than make up for it. He is taking a risk, but if he truly is 100% innocent, then it may be a risk worth taking.

So he will go a year with no salary, and then enter the draft after a year with no football. No guarantee he makes up the lost money.

All that being said, if the Bears draft him in the third, it would be OK.

So medium risk high reward potential?

I think so. To get a top 15 pick at a position of need for the 7th pick in the 3rd? Worth it.

Consider, you planned on killing your ex because she will try to take most of your millions, you decide to have a friend hit her the week before the draft (dumb), you go to the draft, and immediately the heat is on you. Would you be thinking about when you are getting drafted when the heat was on? If you are innocent, you are pissed that your chance is being ruined. If you are guilty, not so much.

Unfortunately, the NFL can't randomly change their rules for one player. It could cause lots of problems in the future.

The rest, I agree with completely and can't understand how people are making fun of him.
Ray Rice begs to differ.
