I was going to come say this. For anyone that wanted Jeanty, modern trends show the TE probably would matter more. Also, TE is a bad value in terms of cost savings for the position, but RB is even worse.

More interestingly though, great TEs are rarely available. It’s actually a position more frequently unavailable in free agency. Of course, RB is not that…. Just see Saquon, Jacobs, Henry… or trade like CMC (or Hall rumored available). But, if you hit on a TE, it’s usually a position you keep on your roster til they aren’t good anymore.

Strangely enough.. Next year the Chicago bears will be in the market for a big time RB. Draft or FAs. I think a guy like Nick Chubb would create a massive imbalance on defenses. They used to stack 8 in the box to stop him and behind a two TE set we could see that again given the attention needed to stopping "a guy like Chubb." Who knows if Chubb can even be like Chubb anymore but id love to give him a shot.

Everything on offense is improved by defenses having to adjust personnel to us. The trend was set and we didn't follow it. Defenses were waiting for us to follow suit but we didn't. They drafted players to stop the current trends. Preparing for us will be a completely different task for DCs. Defensive Coordinators better have a really strong 3rd coverage linebacker to put out there. Because if they put a Nickel on the field against two TE sets you could technically run the ball all game with a really high chance of coming away with greater than 4 yards per carry and a few broken plays that lead to TDs.

That being said Rome and DJ are gonna be thrilled that Safeties are cheating up the field and helping cover TEs. 1 on 1s for elite route runners is ideal for making big plays... big plays lead to big money... As long as Caleb can make the read these WRs are gonna feast.

The table is set for Caleb Williams... and the Bears ordered him everything on the menu... He just has has to make the throws.

When’s the last time we lined up and the defense didn’t call out what play it was? First half of ‘18?

IDK if the problem was that the QBs were too simple to run a complex offense and that made them one dimensional and an easy film study... or if playcalling was so atrocious that we couldn't come up with something that caught defenses off guard.

Also didn't help that the line couldn't execute much. Way way too many instances of guys blocking no one or completely whiffing

They would also block each other or a couple of receivers would run to the same exact spot on the field.

Well, if you have had shoulder surgery you know that being able to lift your arm up is a major accomplishment. That s**t hurts a lot and there is a ton of work involved.
At different times I have had labrum surgery rotator cuff and injured AC joint. AC joint was the easiest to come back from. All of them hurt like hell to rehab.

I believe Kmet and Loveland are about to have a great time playing the TE position for BJ.
Yeah, think about it you have Kmet the inline blocking TE who also happens to be a very good receiver. Now you add Loveland the tall athletic move TE who can play all over the formation, inline, slot, wide, use him in motion. Add in Moore, Odunze, and Swift/? running behind an improved OL. Think of the stress an innovative HC like Johnson can put on opposing defenses. This could be a fun offense to watch.

Unfortunately this franchise has experience with drafting preinjured players who were "expected " to be ready for training camp. The most recent was Kiran Amegadjie last year. We all know how that went. Hope they did they did a much better job evaluating the injury this time.
