Regarding his blocking from the above report: Loveland is a willing and competitive run blocker. He showcases functional strength to wall off and seal a variety of defenders. When in-line, he is a plus-blocker to create a lane for the ball-carrier, even against base defensive ends. Loveland’s athleticism is an asset as a space blocker when aligned in the slot or out wide. He can climb to those second and third-level defenders quickly to engage. He flashes a nasty, finishing mentality to put defenders in the dirt. His effectiveness as a run blocker opens up delay and leak route concepts off hard play-action.

Yeah no way he is undersized as someone said. Just needs to get stronger and maybe put on like 7 pounds of muscle to get to like 255.

• Kmet is a Y TE
• Loveland is a F TE
• Ben Johnson runs the most plays in the NFL out of the 12 personal.
• T hat means 2 TEs
• 2 TEs on the field at the same time the majority of the time
• Loveland is an F TE that’s more of a Brock bowers type TE.
• This was Ben Johnson drafting a guy he wants so he can run his offense the way he wants

I don't know. I honestly don't think this is a particularly bad pick. I just don't know if he was the right pick at this time. I get that there are guys that Ben Johnson wants to run schemes that he likes but there are several out there that could do what Loveland can do and probably be second round guys. I'm not sure that Loveland wouldn't have slipped into a high round 2 player.

I don't hate the player insomuch as wonder if this was the right player at number 10.

Get ready for the goal posts to move too when he puts up a vaunted 300 yard 3 TD rookie season.

"The TE position comes with a steep learning curve, guys"
While it comes with a steep learning curve, when you are picked at #10–you better produce immediately

At 10, yes the Loveland pick had better bring production to the offense. It doesn’t mean he needs to hang 700 yards and 8 TDs, but it had better allow Johnson to run his offense near top speed.
