I like the idea of small towns but it's the people I don't like a good portion of the people are taking drugs and hooking up with the same circle of people. The only intelligent conversation is about trucks.

Maybe Northern small towns are better than Southern small towns.

I grew up in a rural community of about 3,000 people. One time in HS or shortly after, I was at a barn party. A group of about 4 kids almost got into a fist fight regarding which county had the best soil in Iowa. True story.

Hey, never said it was a bad thing, just funny. Taters meme makes me laugh. We had corn that surrounded every ball field I ever played at and even had some behind our school. Some kids actually drove tractors to school.

I went to a school like that. The guys had shotguns in their vehicles so they could go hunting after school. Nobody ever brought one in the school or caused any trouble with one. Try taking a shotgun to school now.

My two oldest kids grew up in southern Arkansas. Relatively small town, etc. I did some hunting when I grew up with my dad and uncles but never really enjoyed it much so I didn't hunt in Arkansas either. One thing of interest, though, is that they actually gave the kids days off of school if they wanted to go hunting with their dad when hunting season happened. I took the kids golfing instead

Have you ever heard the saying if you took the bottom two county rows of Iowa and combined them with Missouri, then you'd make both states smarter? Well, I was in the bottom two rows of Iowa lmao. I made it out alive though.

Yeah it's a real shame there is no place to live that is not either rural or the projects. Some people actually view America in those terms, they're called morons.

Meth has always been big in Iowa from what I know, mainly because the people who cook it can just set up shop in the middle of the woods, but it was never really big from where I was from.
