One of the misleading issues with the stats is Caleb doesn’t put up numbers in many of the games until we are already getting our asses kicked, then his numbers start to jump. He needs to start a game hot, I can’t remember one game he has. You can blame it on many things not in his control but he certainly carries blame as well.
Exactly.
Bears are ranked at the bottom for 1st quarter points this season. Last 3 games, ranked bottom. Against the Eagles on Sunday, WAS tied their franchise record with 21 first-quarter points, and they're ranked 3rd for 1st quarter points and ranked #1 in first quarter points in the last 3 games ahead of Philadelphia, Kansas City, and Minnesota. Suggesting a relationship between JD's success or stats with any garbage time narrative is comical.
Caleb made some brilliant throws last night, and I see the potential for greatness. I put the entire blame of this season on the coaches and GM. No superstar can thrive in an environment without adequate support, development, and a strong culture of accountability -- all of which we do not have.
Poles screwed up by thinking he can just acquire pieces and plug-and-play them to this team. It's almost like he looked at their name, highlight reels, and said why not, without performing the due diligence to see how they'd actually fit here.
