I know we had a lively thread last year about all of the shows and different venues we were all going to, so might as well start a new one. If there is a current one already, my apologies. I went back three pages in the bar and must have missed it.

Wifey and I are going to Red Rocks twice. One is to see the Tedeschi Trucks Band. The other is Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration featuring Warren Haynes. Red Rocks is celebrating 75 years this year and it's going to be epic.

She's dragging me to see the Dixie Chicks (Why, god, why?) at Fiddlers Green and we're road tripping to OKC to see DMB. 25th year of the kings of summer touring. Rumor has it it might be their last.

Also got back stage passes and front row tickets to see Korn and Zombie this summer as well. An old buddy got hooked up with the tix and we're going to relive the 90s and rock out with our cocks out.

Some great pics of Red Rocks. If you've never been, you should go. Follow your favorite band there. Bucket list venue for sure.

Best American band right now. Just saw them at the Chicago Theathre in January. Here is a video of a circa 1967 song by Sly Stone they covered

Never seen the Trucks band, or even listened to them. Only heard good things and it's a worth the trip to RR to check em out.

Wife and I ran into a young couple outside the theatre and they never heard them before but bought tickets anyway

Here is what you need to know:
-He is considered arguably the greatest slide guitarist in the world. Was in the Allman Brothers band for 15 years, protege of Eric Clapton (is actually named for him)

-His wife is the lead singer and she is a Bonnie Ryaitt blues belter

-The rest of the band members were part of their previous bands. Very accomplished players.

-They can't be classified by style. One minute they are a blues band, then soul band, rock band, funk band. They do a lot of covers and shoot for stuff the average person never heard. They mimmic Joe Cocker's band, Sly Stone, Leon Russell. They work off a set list of about 300 songs so every concert is different. That pisses of a lot of their fans that come to hear certain songs. The best strategy is just listen and go with the flow and enjoy what ever they play

-Their band is one big family. they have played together for years, travel by bus. Lots of interviews on youtube and they are really down to earth

-Their concerts are loud, really loud. Dont sit in front.

Here they are at the white house playing a Robert Johnson classic

Are you going to your annual Farm Aid concert this year? You've been going for 30 years, you were an old cuck even back then.

So, here is the Tedeschi Trucks Band with Herbie Hancock doing Space Captain which was a little known 60s song. On the Mad Dogs Tour Joe Cocker played the song every night but it has been unrecorded for 40 years. Really unique and gives you a sense of what this band is all about. Herbie and Derek dueling at 5:00

Smashing Pumpkins were at Civic Opera House last night and it was an amazing concert. James Iha came on stage and played a bunch of Siamese Dream songs. Bill Wennington was there too.

I am also going to the Dream Theater concert. I think they are playing the entire Astonishing album.

Got this coming up soon, and a buddy is flying in from Minneapolis to go. Never been to the Copernicus Theater, so hopefully it's a decent venue.
