I would also argue... the attack caused injuries that pulled some good fights off the card and they had no replacements to step in.

If this was staged, it was a colossal **** up.... a cash cow in McGregor is in criminal trouble on multiple fronts and cannot fight for probably 6-9 months.

And on top of that, if they staged this.... the fighters and staff who were injured could sue the UFC for a shitload of money.

I do know that Dana White and the UFC have cameras around 24/7. It could have been roughly planned as a confrontation, but definitely not choreographed.

I also know that with Jon Jones and Ronda Rousey out, McGregor is the only name casual fans know at UFC and this incident has them in the news.

Same problem.... watered down cards.... injuries and lack of star talent in a number of divisions.

It trickles down to the TV cards.

If PPV cards need bouts they snag them from TV cards and they also get watered down.

So many cards you read like 5 great fights on main card and by fight week 2 of the 5 are left and 3 prelims are promoted and some of those fights lose fighters to injury and get reset.... idk how they fix it, but Spartan is 100% correct.... way too many cards get watered down with boring/shitty fights.

Well, I think the FOX deal is pretty much fixed regardless of any fluctuation in ratings. I’ve noticed since the company has been sold the overall quality of the cards has gone down. Still get some real good fights here and there but it’s not the big names. This new company is looking at things more globally though, getting cards in a greater range of countries and finding talent elsewhere too.

Besides the injuries, these fighters are just fighting less often. I think a guy like Conor has actually done more harm than good. He’s made it all about money, especially after that crazy con fight with Mayweather, and now you have many fighters who want to pick and choose their fights and demand a lot more money.

Certainly Jones is missed. He could sell tickets no matter how hard his rep got hit. Lesnar expected back this year and he’s always been a huge draw even though I don’t think he’s a good fighter.

I expected Conor wouldn’t want to fight for a very long time after that huge payday. Even when he does fight again, he’ll be careful about who he fights. He’s more of a showman than a great fighter. No way this latest thing with him was staged though. That’s who he is, he wants attention but doesn’t necessarily want to fight the best out there. This latest incident is just more of the same stupid shit from this egomaniac. He crashed a Bellator card a few months ago and got stupid there as well while over celebrating a team member’s win and then shoving and slapping a ref.
