Now for the massive Ecological nightmare that's about to unfold.
Wait till the gentle rain from the Gulf starts falling on nearby, and distant, farms' vegetables and fruits.

Wait till the livestock start eating grass, plants, feed, etc; "nourished" by the gentle gulf rains.

Wait till we start eating those vegetables, fruits and livestock. YUMMY!

The oil won't effect the rain. It will not evaporate with the water.

However, if a hurriKANE blows through, it will undoubtedly blow a lot of oil deep inland.
I just don't understand how BP hasn't been absolutely annihilated financially by this disaster yet.
Any idea of how much money BP has?

Put it this way. That 20 billion they had to set aside to recoup losses by people in the gulf amounts to around one year of profits for BP.

Their first quarter profits for 2010?

6.08 Billion.

Now if we could just figure out the sex and party affiliation of Louisiana's governor.
Mikita, realized the mistake after I posted, lol. Was Mary Landrieu, democratic Senator from La.

My bad

BP should simply be forced to spend their billion dollar annual earnings on cleaning up that mess for the next decade. Time to make these greedy companies start taking responsibility for all their crap they do in the name of profit.

Considering the environment hasn't coped from the Exxon-Valdez spill yet and that was just a fraction of the BP spill, I do also believe the Gulf is proper fucked for decades. Not to mention the mess it will cause if (when) a hurricane blows through it. It would cause not only further massive environmental damages but also affect the people and businesses around the Gulf in a big way.

It's a proper clusterfuck. And the American taxpayer will foot the bill in the end, I am sure of it. As there is no way a multibillion company will take responsibility for it. It just how it works.
