Excellent example of "floating tonality."

Been listening to this band quite a bit. They had to cancel some gigs in Europe due to threats (based on their name percieved as offensive) and got some press over that so I downloaded their stuff from Apple tunes. Nice retro sound.

The Fratellis. Of course, everyone knows "Chelsea Dagger" from the Blackhawks games, but they have got some really good stuff besides that. Seen them twice in smaller venues, and they've become one of my favorite bands.

Forgive me if this isnt deep or obscure enough...
This is a dead-end group, Mother Love Bone.
one album, Apple, and the singer died.
Early (89-90) seattle.

Some may have tracked these guys down if they were soundgarden or pearl jam fans- 2 guys from Mother Love Bone teamed up with Chris Cornell for Temple of the Dog, then went on to join Pearl Jam.

The one album they have out is worth a purchase.

I haven't listened to this for years, but I always end up listening a few times in a row when I do. Classic film qawwali. Mohammed Rafi was a god.

There are higher quality versions, but none with subtitles as good.
