I was a big fan of Niemi. That being said, I think CC has been the most pleasant surprise on the Hawks roster this year. The Turco experiment was a big fail in my book, although I like Marty and he does mentor CC very well from the bench.
I would expect to see CC re signed during the summer, but for how much will really depend on if we get into the playoffs, and how deep we go from there. If we make WC Championship or better, I would expect to see CC signed for about 2M. Anything less, I would say 1.2-1.5M. The Hawks have already shown that they will not pay big dollars for goaltenders...thus the exit of Niemi last summer.
