Let's say the Bulls beat Miami in the Eastern Conference Finals. After seeing the performance the Mavericks put forth against the Heat, how would you have seen the Bulls stacking up against Dallas?

I wouldn't have been surprised to see Dallas sweep the Bulls, or at the very least win in 5. Boozer would be toast inside defensively and the pure athleticism of Terry, Barea and co. would be a handful for our backcourt. Watching the Mavs all postseason and especially in the Finals just made me happy the Bulls were at home watching at this point. The Bulls are a good team, but they're not championship-caliber right now.

No way the Bulls beat Dallas in the finals, if they made it of course. Dallas was playing like a fine tuned machine and the Bulls are way too inexperienced. Dallas wasn't going to be denied the title this post season. Going through the Lakers and Miami Heat to win the championship is one hell of a feat. I would feel like a foolish homer if I tried to make an argument for the Bulls being able to beat the Mavs.

I can pretty confidently say that we wouldn't have won. We had our offensive issues the whole postseason and I doubt we would find some magical cure playing against Dallas. Dirk and the Mavs were on a tear and just could not be stopped. I'd say we lose in 6 best case scenario. I just don't think Noah could've stopped Dirk.

Before Game 4, I would have been pretty confident the Bulls would have beaten the Mavs. But now I'd be wiser to learn in the Mavs' favor a little bit.

I don't know...that's a good question. Dallas doesn't have a massive small forward that can check Rose. I don't think Shawn Marion can do that consistently. Just my opinion...

The Bulls might have three of the four best players on the court, but the Mavs have a deeper, and probably better, bench.

Kidd can't stay in front of Rose at all so I'm fairly sure it would have been Terry guarding him; either way that is a nightmare match-up for Dallas.

The Bulls can defend Dirk Nowitzki better than maybe any of the other teams in the NBA. Taj Gibson is a great defender and Joakim Noah actually has some length to alter shots by Nowitzki. Boozer would have neautralized a lot of Dirk's post-up ability too.

I still think Dallas runs a way better half-court offense than Chicago does. Their ball movement is incredible.

Imagine next year, if they have Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood, and Rodrique Beaubois... that's a scary prospect. I know they have a lot of unrestricted free agents (including Tyson) but they will be good again... no doubt.

Even though regular season games, let's look at the 2 between Dallas ad Chicago.

The first game was really early in the year. That's when we didn't have Boozer... and we beat Dallas 88-83. We raped Dallas on the boards.. 59-34.. We still beat them despite Dirk going off for 36. This is when Dallas had Caron butler and everyone else healthy.

The second game was about mid-season.. The Mavs were playing without Butler, but the Bulls were playing without Boozer AND noah, and we still won 82-77. This was the game where Rose was the only player on the Bulls to score in double digits. That's the 3rd time in the past 15 years that a team won a game when only 1 player scored over 10. We also out-rebounded them by 10... despite having Boozer and Noah out.

So going off that, I think the Bulls would have had a good shot.

But who knows

Well, the Bulls swept the Heat during the season. You do make good points, but the regular season doesn't mean a thing come the playoffs. It was definitely apparent this year.

yeah, I never finished my first sentence.. I was gonna say "even though regular season games don't mean much"

my bad hahaha.

I agree with you though. Regular season games don't mean much... but that's really all we can go off of now since we have no idea who really would have won between the 2
