Puckdrop - 7:30 p.m.
TV - CSN Chicago
Radio - WGN AM 720

Three games. That's all that remains in the NHL regular season. This time next week we'll be diving deep into the Hawks first-round playoff matchup. But before that, playoff seeding remains in question. It certainly seems like the Hawks are destined for the No. 3 seed, facing off against St. Louis or Dallas, depending on which team slips into the No. 2 spot. Tonight presents another chance for the Hawks to get their house in order before embarking on another grueling run to the Cup. The Yotes' don't have much to play for, with golf clubs waiting to be dusted off at the end of this week. I see no reason why they should be able to take two more points to the links with them.

LET'S GO HAWKS!!

Not skating tonight, Q said he'd likely play before the end of the regular season though.

Serious question here... that goal can't count can it? I mean... I guess it's probably legal and all but did there has to be some kind of rule against that happening isn't there?

This is the first time I noticed that the puck actually went in.

There's a full video here and judging from the game recap, it counted and it was the shootout-winner.

That's nuts, it seems like it would be some form of interference or something? What if he was going up there and threw his glove then scored, would they still count that? A guy winds up and breaks his stick and takes out a goalie but the puck still goes in, does that count... I guess it not being intentional has to be a big part of it, but the goalie was clearly thrown a bit by the stick hitting him.

Yeah, I think you answered your own question with the part about it not being intentional. Although if Doan somehow figured out a way to break his stick on a shot, have the blade hit a goalie in the face, and still manage to score ... that would be something.

I wouldn't put it past that sneaky bastage.
